On Wednesday, the 3rd grade class braved the elements and went on their class field trip to Giant Springs. They got a lesson from the wonderful staff on the wildlife in the area. The class even got to paint an animal paw print mold to take home! They visited the fish hatchery and went hiking around the park. After burning off some energy for the ride home at Gibson Park, where geese and ducks roamed around, they ventured back home!

The 6th grade class presented their research papers to their classmates today, describing the origin, history, and uses of a spice that they chose. At the conclusion of the presentation, we enjoyed a couple of dishes that students made highlighting their spice. The papers were great, and the basil tortellini and vanilla custard were delicious!

Today students in grades 9-12 had a chance to visit with Montana Poet Laureate Chris La Tray, who shared his thoughts on writing poetry and finding inspiration in everyday life.

ASP (Advanced Science Practices) had a spaghetti tower challenge. Some ideas were hard to execute and they aren't beautiful, but the challenge was met!

4th Grade had the privilege of welcoming Montana's Poet Laureate, Chris La Tray to our school. We took a trip out to the Sweet Grass Hills and he shared stories of his Metis culture and the significance of these sacred grounds that we call home! Thank you, Mr. La Tray!

Thanks to Sally Aschim for bringing in her seashell collection and teaching the 1st graders to identify clams, scallops, oysters, snails and mussels!

This year, author JC Fuller and Kami Lavin donated author signed copies of the mystery Black Bear Alibi to the high school students. Going along with the theme the high school students had to solve a mystery to get their copies of the books. Every clue had something to do with the plot line or characters within the story. Fun was had by all as they worked together to solve the clues, found what was hidden, (despite the signs meant to throw them off track) and celebrated with a sweet cup of cocoa.
Here are some snapshots from the day sharing a snippet of their adventures.
It's not too late to get your little ones in for Preschool Screening and Kindergarten Registration. Please give the office a call.

Seventh through tenth graders spent a beautiful day in Ulm, MT! We hiked from the First Peoples Buffalo Jump visitors center up to the Buffalo Jump, played Shinny and learned how to throw arrows with atlatls! We could not have had a more beautiful spring day in Montana.
