Our first unit of study in 5th grade science is the solar system. This week we studied the sun and shadows. You can't really study shadows outside without a game of shadow tag!

The Lady Refiner Volleyball team travels to Cascade today, Friday, September 4. They will play on court 2 (Gym will be split into two courts) at the following times:

Our cross country runners travel to Shelby today, Thursday, September 3, 2026! They will be running at the Marias Valley Golf Course. The JH races begin around 10am while the HS runners start around 11am! Good luck runners!

The Lady Refiners and Lady Wildcats travel to Chester for games today, Thursday, September 3! The Wildcats play at 5pm followed by the Refiners at approximately 6pm (20 minutes after JH game)! Good luck ladies!

4th Grade Artists!
Paper Bag Autobiographies!
What better way to get to know your new students than by learning about the things that make them, well, them!
During our first week of school, each third grader brought in five special items to create their very own Paper Bag Autobiography. Their bags included favorite toys, pictures, keepsakes, and other things that are important to them. Each kiddo had the chance to share their items with the class and tell us a little bit about why each one was special.
It was so much fun getting to peek into their worlds and hear the stories behind their treasures! We learned about favorite hobbies, family, friends, memories, and all the little things that make each of our classmates unique.
We’re already off to a wonderful start getting to know one another and building our classroom community!

This weekend, some of last year's award-winning science projects were shared with the public at the state's 15th annual Clean Energy Fair in Great Falls. Our students were invited to attend by the Citizens for Clean Energy, an award sponsor at the Regional Science Fair.

The 5th grade started out the first day of school learning science lab rules with a fun cloud experiment! Our year is off to a great start!
Fourth grade began learning about historical thinking skills that we'll be busy using all year long!
They started by analyizing primary sources from their teachers's life to develop their own understanding of who she is!
Follow along to continue the investigation with us more next week!
Fourth grade's annual BOOK TASTING CAFE was a success!!
New genres were discovered and Accelerated Reader books were chosen!

Sunburst Schools is rolling out a new way to provide communication and information between students, teachers, coaches, and parents! This new tool utilizes our Sunburst Schools App (Android/Apple free download).
Parents should have received an invite with a link to register for this new information and communication platform This invite will provide a link to our new platform. If you are having issues, the URL link below will provide more information to assist parents and guide them through the process of registering and being setup to receive important communication. If you did not receive an invite, one will hopefully be coming soon! You can also utilize your mobile number and likely have access to this new tool.
