Sunburst PTO Scholarships
The Sunburst Parent Teacher Organization recently awarded scholarships to seniors Ali Nau ($1,500), Ella Samsal ($1,500), and Gabe Bouttier ($300). The PTO wishes to congratulate these students on their recent high school graduation. We also wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
Second, the Sunburst PTO would like to thank everyone who continues to support the Sunburst Calcutta which helps to support these awesome scholarships for our students. Special thanks to Jason and Lisa Samsal for their efforts in putting on this yearly event.

Congratulations to the Refiner track team, Coach Nagy, and Coach Omdahl, as they had six athletes earn the opportunity to compete at the State Class C Meet in Laurel, Montana next week (May 29 & 30)!
Refiner athletes that advanced include:
Colette Bucklin: 1600 - 1st place; 3200 - 1st place
Ali Nau: 3200 - 5th place
Wyatt Rogers: 110 hurdles - 5th place; 300 hurdles - 1st place
Nick Bucklin: 3200 - 4th place; javelin - 4th place
Ethan Samsal: shot put - 6th place
Vince Taylor: high jump - 6th place

MSU Northern Basketball Camp Information!
For their final Montana history project, our fourth graders put their newfound writing skills to work by creating original, nonfiction picture books about "Amazing Montanans." Students highlighted the lives of notable figures, including Evelyn Cameron, Chief Dull Knife, George Oiye, Marcus Daly, Taylor Gordon, and Anna Boe Dahl. To celebrate their hard work, they invited the first and second-grade classes to hear the published stories—and the younger students made for a fantastic, engaged audience!

As reporter, editor, designer, and creative director, Ali worked month after month to create a quality student newspaper that captured the stories and spirit of our school. Her creativity, dedication, and hard work made The Refiner something we all looked forward to reading. Thank you, Ali, for the time, talent, and heart you poured into this project. We’re so grateful for you!
Our 3rd graders did an incredible job at their American Symbol Museum today! Each student worked so hard and showed so much creativity, confidence, and knowledge. We are so proud of all the effort they put into making this event special.

NTCHS and the Booster Club would like to thank our community for the incredible support that made this year's Lock-In a success! Thirty-four students in grades 9-12 enjoyed bowling, bingo, relay races, karaoke, and more from 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th, until 4 a.m. on Sunday, May 17th. A special thank you to our outstanding chaperones (Shane & Teresa Berthelote, Lyle and Adele Benjamin, Cyndi Young, Amanda & Jeff Nix) and to our generous donors: NorthernTel, The Sunburst Mercantile, Sunburst Grain, Adam Kerfoot of State Farm, KW Insurance, Toole County Health Department, Logan Health, and Barb Wired.
