Toole County XC Challenge
The Toole County XC Challenge Dual meet featuring Sunburst and Shelby was held yesterday, September 28, 2026.
In the varsity meet, Shelby brought home the T Trophy for the first time in this competition as Kickerbocker and Scarborough from Shelby finished 1st and 2nd for boys while Coco Bucklin from NTC was the first girl finisher followed by Stewart from Shelby in 2nd. With Knickerbocker, Scarborough and Stewart finishing first, second and fourth, Shelby posted a team score of seven points, while North Toole County’s first three finishers totaled 14. As in traditional cross country scoring, the lowest combined place total determined the winner.
Shelby'sThomas Knickerbocker led the field, taking first overall in 19:51.9, followed closely by teammate Corin Scarborough, who finished second in 20:00.23. North Toole County’s Coco Bucklin was the first Refiner runner across the line, finishing third in 20:37.89. Shelby's Aeris Stewart followed in fourth with a time of 20:50.23. North Toole County’s Elonzo Benjamin finished in 20:53.82, followed by teammate Colter Sandon in 21:02.7. Shelby's Jaxon Hooker rounded out the high school field with a time of 24:09.54.
In middle school action, only Sunburst fielded runners for the shorter course. Shae Smith finished the course in 10:32.1 and Lucas Mostad finished in 12:50.2.

Explore Ecuador: Andes to Amazon international science trip 2027 will have a this Wednesday PARENT MEETING (9/30) at 6pm in the NTC science room. We will discuss payment plans, required paperwork, and fundraising. All 9-12 students (and their parents) are welcome!
