Sunburst Christmas Stroll

The annual Sunburst Christmas Stroll is tonight at the Sunburst Community Center from 5-8pm.

Sunburst Schools will be represented by some student clubs selling items as well as the kids choir! We hope to see everyone come out for a great community event!

2nd Grade Letters to Santa

The 2nd grade class all wrote and recorded their letters to Santa that will be played on KSEN/KZIN Radio. Special thanks to Northern Telephone Cooperative for sponsoring Sunburst Schools and to KSEN/KZIN Radio for their continued tradition of broadcasting the Letters to Santa.

Fall Sports Awards Night

The NTCHS Fall Sports Awards Night has been rescheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, at 6:30pm in the NTCHS Auditorium. Pizza and drinks will be served.

Football, volleyball, and cross country athletes and parents are encouraged to attend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sunburst Schools wishes everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are very thankful for our wonderful students, staff, parents, and community!

Today, our 4th grade class became food historians. Students learned that long before pre-packaged trail food, Native American hunters made their own version of today's protein bars and trail mix called Pemmican. The word pemmican is derived from the Cree word, pimihkan. The root 'pimi' means fat. We made our own version of pemmican today using beef jerky, rendered beef fat, and dried cranberries and walnuts. The kids surprisingly liked it, but the overall consensus was that we used too much fat!

Thanksgiving Break

Sunburst Schools will not have school November 26-28, 2025 to celebrate Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Breakfast Change

Breakfast on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 will be Breakfast Bars.

4th grade finished up their gingerbread houses on National Gingerbread Cookie Day! We were very fortunate to spend two Fridays working on these with special guest, Kelsey Buckley. She baked the pieces for us and taught the kids a little bit about the process. She created blueprints for each student and they built their own train cars to go with this year's Annual Theme "A Hi-Line Holiday". You can see the finished display at the Marias Museum Annex during their Annual Christmas Open House on Tuesday, December 9th from 4:30 to 8:00p.m. There will be soup, cookies, musical entertainment and SANTA!!

Youth Basketball

Youth basketball for students in Kindergarten-4th grade begins this Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 9:00am in the Sunburst Elementary Gym. Information about youth basketball is being sent home with your child today, November 19.

As a result of the Marias River Electric emergency outage today, November 19, starting at 3pm and lasting from 2-5 hours, Sunburst Schools may not have great phone service. If you need to make any changes to your child's normal bus/after school activities, please plan to call either school office prior to 2:30pm.

Event Cancellation

JHBB Game Update

The JH basketball games scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025 will not start at 5pm start. The bus will depart at 3pm. Good luck Wildcats!

NTC Refiner Basketball Parent Meeting

There will be a Refiner Basketball parent meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 5:45 PM in the NTCHS Gym. We ask all parents and players to attend.

Refiner Basketball

The Refiner basketball season gets underway this Thursday, November 20th. Coach Nate Aschim and Assistant Coach Jackson Nagy will be leading the Refiner boys team. Coach Tyler Tharp and Assistant Coach Kaitlyn Nagy will be leading the girls team.

A tentative practice schedule for November 25 is seen below.
