Guidance Counselor Appreciation
All week long Sunburst Schools has been honoring our amazing guidance counselor, Mrs. Kerfoot. She does an incredible job working with all of our students.
Sunburst Schools is fortunate to have Mrs. Kerfoot to provide guidance to our older students on scholarships, career choices, as well as life's challenges. At the elementary level, she does a wonderful job of teaching many necessary life lessons as well as coping skills and resilience.

All week we have been celebrating our amazing lunch and breakfast crews. These folks work hard daily to provide delicious and nutritious meals for our students daily.
At the elementary, Miss Lorrie and Miss Brandi prepare all breakfast and lunch meals for all students. At the high school, Miss Leisha and Mr. Flesiher serve breakfast daily to our JH and HS students. Behind the scenes, Miss Lori and Mrs. Leichliter run the lunch computer, track meals, etc.
Sunburst Schools has an amazing crew that cares deeply about our students and prepares enjoyable meals daily! Thank you to our food services personnel!

State Speech & Debate
Leah Mostad and Athena Bouttier, along with Coach Henneberry, did an incredible job of representing NTCHS at State Speech & Debate last weekend in Townsend.
Leah performed exceptionally well and placed 6th at state! Athena also did an incredible job and was very close to placing.
Congrats Leah, Athena, and Coach Henneberry on a great season!

Senior night for Refiner basketball players will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, between the girls and boys game at approximately 4:15pm. The Refiners play Augusta with a JV game at 1:30pm, varsity girls at 3:00pm, and varsity boys at 4:30pm.
Seniors that will be recognized include: Cordelle Stulc, Ella Samsal, Ali Nau, Michael Miller, and Gabe Bouttier. Please come and cheer them on during their last home basketball game!

Preschool
Today, January 28, 2026, was the first day of preschool! We are excited to welcome two children to the kindergarten class every Wednesday morning from 9-11am!

It's been a busy start to 2026 here in the 4th grade! From soil samples to lava models to chemical weathering in science, learning all about MT in the 20th century through classroom transformations, novel studies, and hands-on history in social studies, long division and multiplying multi-digit numbers in math, plus 45 newly learned spelling words, attending their first spelling bee, and practice with expanding sentences...these 4th graders are well on their way to covering some serious ground during the second semester of the school year!

The 5th grade finished up their chalk pastel Aurora Borealis art projects last Friday. They are always a favorite project that turn out so beautifully!
