
National STEM Champion
Sunburst Schools is proud to announce that Nikki Nau, senior at NTCHS, has been named a National STEM Champion and has earned an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, to participate and present at the inaugural National STEM Festival on April 13, 2024. Nikki was chosen as 1 of only 126 total 6th-12th grade students from throughout the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories to participate in this prestigious festival.
The STEM Festival is presented by the US Department of Education and EXPLR as well as numerous other partners. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Please check out the links below for more information.

Lady Refiners conclude their season as they lose to the Simms Tigers 48-31.


Refiner boys finish their season with a hard fought loss to Valier 47-45.


The Lady Refiners lost to Heart Butte 37-29. They will play in loser out action on Friday at 5:30pm.

Refiner boys lose to Dutton/Brady 57-13. They will play tomorrow at 1pm.


Pep Assembly
A pep assembly was held today to pump up the Refiner basketball teams as they begin district tournament action today. All K-12 students participated in the assembly led by Mrs Asschim. The Refiner boys play Dutton/Brady at 1pm. The Lady Refiners take on Heart Butte tonight at 7pm. Good luck Refiners.

Congratulations to Avani Champaneria on winning 4th place at the regional Poetry Out Loud contest in Great Falls. Having received high marks on her recitation of two poems at the regional level, Avani will now memorize a third poem which she will deliver at the state competition in Helena on March 2nd. Other Poetry Out Loud competitors from Sunburst included Curtis Bouttier, Gabe Bouttier, and Dylan Bye, who each presented two poems from memory at today’s competition.

No School
Sunburst Schools will not have school on Friday, February 16th due to District Basketball Tournaments. Sunburst Schools will also not have school on Monday, February 19th in observance of the Presidents Day Holiday. Enjoy the 4 day weekend!


US Flag
Sunburst Elementary School was proud to receive a flag to display that flew over our nation's capital. Toole County Commissioner Terry Kimmet received the flag from Senator Daines. Elementary custodian Lynn Kimmet proudly hung up the new flag in the elementary gym.


Even though the 49ers didn't win the Super Bowl, their Sunburst fans did help them to win the food drive! Thanks to everyone that donated to help feed our community!


Senior athletes and musicians and their families were honored at tonight’s Senior night!











Kids Night Out was a success! Thanks to Kaylee and Cheyenne for planning and hosting this fun event! Thank you Jill for volunteering to help! The kids got to play tag games, do an obstacle course, play parachute, craft, have a dance party, eat snacks, and listen to stories. So much fun!











District 10C Basketball Tournament
The District 10C Tournament will be held in Shelby, Montana at the Shelby High School Gymnasium from February 14-17, 2024.
Passes are available for purchase! All-Session Pass (all games) $40 - Adults | $25 - Seniors and Students. Individual prices per session: $12 Adults, $8 Seniors & Students.

Here is a great opportunity for students and/or organizations to earn service hours! Besides being a team participant (https://give.logan.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=1080) Logan Health is looking for volunteers in the following areas: Greeter/Check In: 1 person 7:30 to 9:00
Food Table (help keep food organized and tidy, refill as needed): 8:00 to 11 (1 person), 11:00 to 3:00 (1 person)
Bike recorder/runner: 8:00 to 11:00am 1-2 people
Bike Recorder/Runner: 11:00 to 3:00 pm 1-2 people
Data Entry Expert/clock expert: 8:00am to 3:00pm (1 person, trusted and attentive). Will record bike times follow each 20 minute ride. Will also run the clock.
Prize runner: This person can be multiple people at different time. They will run random raffle prizes that are given out to teams during event.

Congratulations to Nikki Nau on receiving a $1,000 scholarship with her essay submitted to DAR: National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. As the state winner, her essay has moved on to the regional competition.
