These beautiful and incredibly special beaded gloves were gifted to Mrs. Richmond, and made a perfect addition to our introduction of the Fur Trade and the Metis (The Flower Beadwork People)—a distinct group of people who grew out of the fur trade.
Things were spinning, rolling, and whirling in third grade as students created motion with handmade wheels and makeshift tops!

The Lady Refiners will enter as a 3 seed and open tournament action vs. Augusta at 2pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The District 6C tournament will be held at St. Patrick's Academy (formerly GFCC) in Great Falls.
Tickets: Prices will be $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for students/senior citizens (NO Passes). Concessions will be available.

Welcome to Bat Cave Day! 1st graders enjoyed learning about non-fiction texts while studying bats this month.
We kicked off Red Ribbon Week with Crazy Day!
These 4th graders wrapped up their first unit in Montana History last week, and to show what they learned, they used historical thinking skills and numerous historical texts to answer the essay prompt: What was Montana like before non-Indians arrived? As well as, who called Montana home, and how did they live? With scaffolding and support, this group wrote their first 5 paragraph essay!

State XC Results
Congrats to Coco Bucklin on her 3rd place finish. She ran a 20:40.
The Refiner girls team finished in 5th place. Ella Samsal ran a PR at 24:21 to finish 38th. Ali Nau finished in 39th with a 24:22. Kaley Sandon finished 81st with a 27:37
The Refiner boys were led by Nick Bucklin who finished in 22nd with a time of 19:20. Colter Sandon finished in 81st with a time of 21:30. Gabe Bouttier ran 21:54 to finish 94th. Elonzo Benjamin ran 23:41 to finish 122nd.

The class of 2026 would like to extend warm thanks to the community members who helped us with mock interviews this week. This experience serves as a capstone for our career-readiness unit, and gives us a chance to practice our interview skills and put our resumes and cover letters to the test. Thank you to all who volunteered to conduct interviews!
The 5th grade class studied moon phases with Oreo cookies. Everyone agreed that it's pretty much the best way to learn them!
