Huge congrats to our Honor Band and Honor Choir members! They had a wonderful performance on Tuesday evening.
These dedicated students went down to Choteau on Monday and Tuesday, where they learned four new songs in a very short amount of time. Their hard work and admirable dedication led to a truly memorable concert evening!

Sunburst Christmas Stroll
The annual Sunburst Christmas Stroll is tonight at the Sunburst Community Center from 5-8pm.
Sunburst Schools will be represented by some student clubs selling items as well as the kids choir! We hope to see everyone come out for a great community event!

Today, our 4th grade class became food historians. Students learned that long before pre-packaged trail food, Native American hunters made their own version of today's protein bars and trail mix called Pemmican.
The word pemmican is derived from the Cree word, pimihkan. The root 'pimi' means fat.
We made our own version of pemmican today using beef jerky, rendered beef fat, and dried cranberries and walnuts.
The kids surprisingly liked it, but the overall consensus was that we used too much fat!

4th grade finished up their gingerbread houses on National Gingerbread Cookie Day! We were very fortunate to spend two Fridays working on these with special guest, Kelsey Buckley. She baked the pieces for us and taught the kids a little bit about the process. She created blueprints for each student and they built their own train cars to go with this year's Annual Theme "A Hi-Line Holiday".
You can see the finished display at the Marias Museum Annex during their Annual Christmas Open House on Tuesday, December 9th from 4:30 to 8:00p.m. There will be soup, cookies, musical entertainment and SANTA!!

As a result of the Marias River Electric emergency outage today, November 19, starting at 3pm and lasting from 2-5 hours, Sunburst Schools may not have great phone service. If you need to make any changes to your child's normal bus/after school activities, please plan to call either school office prior to 2:30pm.
