The student of the month program has returned to NTCHS and Sunburst Elementary. Staff nominate worthy students for this award. Moving forward, new students will be nominated and recognized each month at the Regular Board Meeting .
At the JH/HS, Mr. Dunk nominated Nikki Nau, NTC Senior. He stated that Nikki goes above and beyond, is dedicated, determined, and involved in everything. Mr. Dunk stated that her government project was one of the best he has ever had turned in during his teaching tenure. Other teachers noted her diligence and great work ethic. Staff stated that she pushes others to participate and is helpful to others. A coach noted that she broke the XC record because of her grittiness and persistence. Last, it was noted that she is friendly, pleasant and has a positive attitude.
At the elementary, Mrs. Richmond nominated Jordy Clark, 3rd grader. Mrs. Richmond read some comments from Miss Aschim that explained how Jordy is positive and bubbly, has a great want to learn, and is a good listener. Mrs. Richmond noted that Jordy works well with others and always goes above and beyond to do her very best.
The Sunburst School Board commended these students on being selected as the September Students of the Month. The board took a picture and praised these students for great efforts.

Welcome to ELLIS ISLAND! 3rd grade students are embarking on a journey this week to discover what it was like to be an immigrant passing through Ellis Island in the 1900s. Students prepared for the journey by creating suitcases filled with their most precious belongings and important documents. As then entered the immigration station on Ellis Island, they were greeted by officers and medical examiners to determine if they were well suited to become American citizens. It's been a fun few days, to say the least!!

Important JHVB and JHGBB Info!
The Junior High Volleyball tournament will now be on October 13th and 14th. Below is the information for the tournament.
Where: Simmes
Prices: Adults $8, Students $6, they do accept cards, however, there will not be cash back for concessions. A hand will be stamped and good for the day.
Teams playing will need to provide their own libero tracker if you have a libero.
Teams will also have to provide one line judge when that team is playing.
NFHS cameras will be on and rolling all day.
Start time for both days will be at 8:30 am, double elimination bracket. The bracket will hopefully be out next week.
With this happening, JH Boys basketball will still be starting Oct. 9th. However, JH Girls BB will be starting the 16th.
