Family Fun Night
Sunburst Elementary will host family fun night on Thursday, March 24th, from 5:30-7:00pm. This is a fun, free event for all K-6 students and their families. Please see the flyer below for more information!

The 5th and 6th grade, led by Mrs. Chilton, both participated in an Irish History and Culture Escape Room activity today. They learned about the country of Ireland while solving puzzles to break free at the end. All students completed the escape and earned a sweet reward at the end! Please see our Facebook page for more pics!

In this lesson, third grade students learned about friction (the force that slows you down on a playground slide). In the activity, The Great Slide Challenge, students worked in groups of four to test which materials had the most friction and which materials had the least friction. Each group made a model of a slide using a stack of books and a piece of cardboard, and made "sliders" out of different materials.

All week during 3rd and 4th grade math, students participated in a "Leprechaun Family Reunion". Each member of the leprechaun family had grade specific math challenges they needed help solving. Once students solved a task, they had the opportunity to draw a "lucky" coin out of a bucket and win a prize from the Leprechauns Pot of Gold! It was quite a fun way to review all we've learned this year!!

Preschool/Kindergarten
Today the preschool students enjoyed learning and participating in some St. Patrick's Day activities!
