NTCHS Pop Concert
The NTCHS Music Department is proud to present the 2022 Pop Concert! The concert will take place at 7:00 p.m. on October 24th, 2022, at the NTCHS Auditorium! We hope you'll come and enjoy "Music through the Decades!"

We gave him the gifts yesterday, but we appreciate our Superintendent, Tyler Bucklin, everyday. Our efforts surpassed what the bag could hold without breaking so we had to grab a box. It’s a great metaphor for what he inspires us to do. (Break the mold so we can do great things for our students) Thanks for all you do to keep us on track, Mr Bucklin.

Fish Art
As part of the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Hooked on Fishing Program, Miss Cathy came and shared "fish art" with our 3rd-6th grade students. Our students learned about various kind of trout and then created their own fish.

Tuesday, October 18, is picture retake day. Lindsay Sandon Photo+Design will be here to take pictures of any students that were absent on picture day as well as to do retakes. Please contact her at 303-587-5807 if you have questions about retakes.
Junior high basketball pictures will also be taken during practice on the 18th so athletes must bring their uniforms, etc. Please contact either school if you have any questions.

While every teacher at Sunburst Schools works hard to include many hands-on lessons and activities, it's important to see how hard these kiddos work to memorize facts and learn about note-taking and studying skills as well. In yesterday's social studies lesson, 4th graders learned about Montana's history of Indian Education for All and we focused on Essential Understanding 1: All tribes are unique. We then included a map of Montana's reservations in our notes and labeled them accordingly!

Third grader students learned about how fossil dinosaur tracks reveal how quickly a dinosaur could run in the past. In the activity, students figured out if they could have won a race with a dinosaur that was just their size. To determine the winner, students compared the length of their running steps with the dinosaur’s steps. Unfortunately no 3rd graders outran the dinosaurs this year!

3rd graders have been learning about Montana's state symbols. To show what they've learned, they created an art piece inspired by Juane Quick-to-See Smith's "Ode to Cheif Seattle".
