4th graders just wrapped up a Unit in Social Studies celebrating many of Montana's most famous people. To display what they learned, students held a Montana wax museum. Watching the kids light up when they learned of the incredible things our own people have done was incredible to see and made my educator heart oh so happy!

Researching Dinos in Miss Aschim's ELA classes!

Jur"math"ic Park: 3rd Grade Students in my math class spent the week building their own Dinosaur Park. Fourth Grade math students worked together to find and solve different units of measurement in various activities. Each activity helped students become dinosaur and theme-park experts!

My favorite classroom transformation came to the third and fourth grade rooms this week! Jurassic Park! We spent the week learning about how to become dinosaur theme park experts in math, producers-consumers-decomposers by digging in "dino dung" (brownie mix), and even had time for some art and STEM activities creating our own dinosaurs! Miss Aschim participated in the fun in her classroom as well, reading a Magic Treehouse Book about dinos and doing a dinosaur research project, as well as a trivia game!

Dino Dung: Students drew a card out of the dino dung (brownie mix), either a picture of a producer, consumer, or decomposer. Once we rinsed off all the "dung" from the cards we created food chains!

Our Paraprofessionals are Unbelievable!
Over the past week, Sunburst Elementary celebrated our unbelievable paraprofessionals. Mrs. Dunk, Mr. Fleisher, Mrs. Robins, and Mrs. Smith do so much on a daily basis to help our students and staff! We appreciate all they do and recognize how unbelievable their contributions are to our school.

Thanksgiving Break
Sunburst Schools will not have school as we all celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday, November 23 through Sunday, November 27th.
We are thankful for the wonderful students we get to work with daily as well as the tremendous community support for Sunburst Schools.

A few students were busy disguising a turkey so he hopefully won't get eaten for Thanksgiving dinner!

Refiner/Wildcat Extracurricular Activities for Nov. 21-28, 2022

This morning the Sunburst Honor Society delivered books and blankies to our local library story hour. After enjoying several Thanksgiving-themed songs and stories lead by librarian Lindsay Sandon, NHS members helped the story-hour kiddos build a craft, then gave each kiddo a book and a blanket to enjoy.

High School Basketball Practice
High school basketball practice begins tomorrow, Thursday, November 17. The high school girls will practice from 3:45-5:45pm in the elementary gym. The high school boys practice has been moved, due to the weather, to Thursday evening from 5:45-8:00pm in the elementary gym. Please contact Coach Aschim for the boys or Coach Tharp for the girls if you have questions.

It's igloo time! 1st & 2nd graders are collecting plastic, gallon milk jugs. Please send in your rinsed gallon milk/water jugs to school and drop off with Miss Tomsheck or Mrs. Pace! Thank you!
