Refiner Track & Field is in full swing!
We will be taking photos this Tuesday so please look for the photo order form from your athlete! Also attached is the schedule.
We have 34 student-athletes out and are so excited to see what they accomplish this season!



Thats a wrap for the 2024 FCCLA State conference! We played, learned and collected multiple wins at this ultimate leadership experience. We had four students win gold for their projects: Nikki, Riccardo, Tanner and Ali! We had five students qualify for nationals: Nikki, Ali, Ella, Kacey and Halle! Sunburst won the Goosechase competition! Halle was second in the bead necklace competition! Way to make us proud!










The 6th grade students had to figure out how to trap a leprechaun using problem solving and reading skills. They all enjoyed their reward for figuring out how to trap these tricksters!



FCCLA State Leadership Conference!






Off to a great start at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference! Nikki Nau was one of only five recipients in the state to earn the Ultimate Leader Award! Claire Bucklin earned one of the two Montana FCCLA Leadership and Service Scholarship Awards! Ali Nau, as the District 1 Vice President, helped to lead our District meeting. Good job ladies! Way to make Sunburst proud!







Next week the Elementary school students will be participating in "I Love to Read" Week! Our theme this year is "Camp Read S'more".
The dress up days are as follows!
Monday: Animal Print
Tuesday: Wear Camp Clothing/Hiking Boots
Wednesday: Wear Bright Clothing/Bring a Flashlight
Thursday: Wear Sweats
Friday: Hat Day

5th grade completed their St. Patrick's Day reading/puzzle challenge and enjoyed a treat at the end of the rainbow!


Another fun day of STEM activities for grades 5/6 at StarBase!








The Sunburst Schools February 2024 Students of the Month were recognized at the March Sunburst School Board Meeting. The high school student of the month was senior Austin Habets. The junior high student of the month was 8th grader Hali Rogers. The elementary school student of the month was 3rd grader Kim Mattfeld. Austin and Hali were in attendance at the board meeting. Mrs. Kerfoot shared their reasons for being recognized and the board commended the students for their great efforts. All students will receive certificates for being named Student of the Month.

Families - please note we have to cancel Kiddie Kollege class next week on Tuesday, March 19th due to another school event.


Spring Sports
Spring sports (golf & track and field) for high school begins on Monday, March 11. Junior high track and field begins March 25.

Boone and Crockett brought archery to Sunburst this week. All students grades 7-12 participated in two archery lessons. Highest point scorers were: Claire, Waylon, Kaiden, Jake and Nick. Thanks to Maddie for bringing this unique and fun sport to Sunburst!








Green Eggs and Foxes and Elephants, oh my! It was Dr. Seuss week in 1st grade and we had a blast!










It was a beautiful morning at Lake Sheloole for grades 3-6 who went ice fishing. Thank you to MT FWP Hooked on Fishing and the volunteers that made it possible for our students. It was a great morning!









Another summer camp opportunity for students interested in a behavioral health career.

Kiddie kollege was all about shapes this week! Students identified shapes in their obstacle course, in the classroom, in their craft book and on their snacks!









We are so proud of our Junior High Students (6-8th grade) for their strong performance at the Regional Science Fair!

Judging is almost over and these kids are rocking it!





This weekend, Avani Champaneria presented Paul Laurence Dunbar's "We Wear The Mask" at the State Poetry Out Loud event and had a chance to talk with Poet Laureate Chris Latray.
