Third grade students learned about a key and grid system on a Montana Highway map and then they took a trip across Montana finding a town for every letter of the alphabet (except x of course!) During our next class period we will go on a Google Earth through each of the towns!

Sunburst Schools is fortunate to have dedicated and wonderful folks as our daily bus drivers. Lynn Kimmet drives the Oilmont bus, MIke Tobin drives the Kevin bus, Adele Benjamin drives the 9 Mile bus, and Tasha Blair was filling in driving the Sweetgrass bus. The folks do an awesome job of transporting our students to and from school daily!

5th Grade read a debate in Scholastic News about the pros and cons of a four day school week. They then went online to cast a vote for their own personal opinion, compare thoughts with students nationwide, and discuss their views with peers. Most 5th graders like the five day school week!

4th graders learned how to detect acids using baking soda which fizzes when mixed with acids, or a special liquid that changes color when mixed with acids. Students then used those methods to identify common foods like pickle juice or ketchup that are acidic!
