Mr. Dunk has worked at Sunburst Schools since August of 1991.
1. What is your current role(s) at Sunburst Schools?
I currently teach high school social studies and freshmen and sophomore P.E./ Health Enhancement.
2. What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have?
I have previously been involved as the high school student council advisor for 20 years. I coached junior high football for 10 years. I coached junior high basketball for 8 years. I was the high school head volleyball coach for 6 years. Altogether, I served in a coaching capacity in the Sunburst school district for 24 years. I taught junior high social studies for 3 years and Junior High Health & P.E. for 2 years. I also subbed in our school district for 10 years prior to becoming a full time teacher. I will finish my 23rd year of teaching this spring in the Sunburst School District.
3. Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and where graduated from college?
I have been a Sunburst resident all of my life, other than when I attended college in Havre, Montana where I got my teaching degree. I graduated from NTCHS in 1985 and attended Northern Montana College in Havre (now MSU Northern). I graduated from Northern in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in Broadfield Social Sciences (grades 5-12) & a health enhancement endorsement. I was born in Cut Bank, Montana.
4. Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other.
I have been happily married to my wife, Annie, for almost thirty years (30 years in July). We have two children, Braydon and Hayley.
5. Do you have any pets?
I currently have no pets.
6. What are some of your hobbies and interests?
My hobbies are watching sports, playing sports such as golf, playing cards, doing yard work, and spending time with my family and friends.
7. Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself?
I enjoy broadcasting local football and basketball sporting events with my partner Dan Nau. We broadcast on the NFHS network for high school sporting events. Our show is called the Dan & Shann Show.
