Mrs. Kerfoot

Mrs. Kerfoot initially started working at Sunburst Schools in August of 2002.

1.  What is your current role(s) at Sunburst Schools?

I am the K-12 School Counselor.

2.  What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have?

I previously taught 4th grade in Oregon and Great Falls before moving back to Sunburst and teaching Kindergarten.  I also taught 4 years grades K-4 at Hillside Colony.  In the past, I was a track coach and JH basketball coach.  I have a total of 19 years in education.

3.  Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and where graduated from college?

I was born in Cut  Bank and grew up west of Sunburst on the Simmes Ranch.  I was a proud Wildcat and Refiner and graduated from NTCHS in 1989.  In 2000, I received my Bachelors degree in Education from MSU-Northern and my Masters degree in School Counseling in 2015.

4.  Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other.

I have been married to my husband, Adam, for almost 23 years.  We have two sons, Grady and Conlan.

5.  Do you have any pets?

I have two dogs and a horse.

6.  What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love hiking the cow trails on the ranch with my dogs.  I love being around the horses and cows and helping out whenever I can on the farm and ranch.  My favorite place to be is outside exploring.  I am learning about entrepreneurship and enjoy connecting with others that have a similar interest.

7.  Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself?

I have a pretty good sized Elvis collection for someone that was only 6 years old when he died.  I was able to visit Graceland and check that off my bucket list.
